Anne spent 35 years in the Education Service in the North East of Scotland. After 20 years in schools as a primary teacher, assistant head teacher and head teacher she worked as an offical for the council rising to the post of assistant director of education where she led and managed several important services and initiatives. She had national involvement in the development of the role of classroom assistants. Anne is presently completing a PHD with Aberdeen University, the study called – The Achievement of Potential: an Exploration in Educational and Social Contexts.
Anne is well known as a dancer and dancing teacher of traditional Scottish Dancing. She has held office locally and nationally for the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society. Church activities and community service have featured prominantly over many years.
To complete the portfolio, Anne enjoys music, reading, computing, pilates, gardening and travel. She is learning to stand and stare.

Armed with a degree in Zoology George practiced as a teacher, education advisor, social developer and plain language author. He has lived and worked in six tropical countries and is now based in a coastal village in NE Scotland. He is presently owner/ director of Seafield Research and Development Services (a sole trader enterprise), convenor of the Caledonia Centre for Social Development (a charity with international outreach) and technical advisor to Hakikazi Catalyst (a Tanzanian NGO).
His hobbies and interests include archaeology, music, cooking and making time to stand and stare by engaging in periodic and lengthy retreats. He has a long standing interest in philosophy - both western and eastern. His parents died in their 80s following relatively brief illnesses due to strokes.
